SEO Calgary

Getting found for the searches that end in work — the layer that keeps paying after you stop buying clicks.

  • Find out what people actually type
  • Give every service its own page
  • Fix what is technically in the way
  • Write the pages that answer the question

Sound familiar?

You’re probably here because…

“We’re nowhere on page one for the thing we actually do.”

“We paid for SEO before and got a report full of numbers that never turned into work.”

“Our competitor is above us and I genuinely don’t know why.”

What’s actually going on

Search engines are trying to answer a question. Everything that works in search comes back to that: does this page answer the thing this person typed, better than the alternatives, and can it be trusted?

That has three practical consequences. The first is structural — a single page listing nine services cannot be the best answer to nine different questions, so the sites that win have a page for each. This is boring, it is most of the work, and it is the part that gets skipped because it is labour rather than a setting.

The second is about intent. “Emergency plumber near me” and “how does a water heater work” are not the same search with different volumes; they are a customer and a reader. Ranking for the second one produces traffic and no work, which is how an agency can show you a graph going up while your phone does nothing.

The third is trust, and for a small site it is usually the real constraint. Other sites referencing you is the signal that is hardest to manufacture, which is exactly why it carries weight — and why the version you can buy in bulk is worth nothing or worse.

One honest caveat about this page specifically: if you are a local service business, the map block above the ordinary results decides more of your enquiries than any of this does. We would rather send you there first.

The work

What we’d do, in order.

  1. 01

Find out what people actually type

Not the phrases you use internally. The ones with a person and a problem behind them — and specifically the ones where somebody is ready to hire rather than still reading.

  2. 02

Give every service its own page

One page listing nine services cannot rank for nine things. This is unglamorous, it is most of the work, and it is the most reliable structural lever there is.

  3. 03

Fix what is technically in the way

Pages that cannot be crawled, duplicated across URLs, loading too slowly to be assessed, or missing the basics. Not a 200-point audit — the handful that actually block you.

  4. 04

Write the pages that answer the question

Content built around a real search with a real intent behind it, not a word count. A page that answers the question completely beats five that circle it.

  5. 05

    Earn the links that count

Local associations, suppliers, partners, sponsorships and work worth referencing. Slow, real, and the actual constraint for most small sites — not a package of four hundred directories.

What you actually get

Every deliverable, and how often.

No bundles, no “strategy” line item you can’t inspect. If it isn’t on this list, we didn’t promise it.

  • Search & intent map What people search, what they mean by it, and which page on your site should answer each one. One-time, revisited quarterly
  • Technical fixes The specific things blocking crawling, indexing or speed. A short list of real problems, not a 200-point export. One-time, rechecked quarterly
  • Service page build A page per service, structured and written for the search it should answer. Phased
  • Content Pages that answer a real question completely. Agreed in advance, never billed by word count. Monthly, if you want it
  • Link work Associations, suppliers, partners and sponsorships that are real and relevant. Slow by nature. Ongoing
  • Plain-language report Which pages get found, which searches bring people who contact you, and what changed. Monthly

The difference

How this usually gets done, and how we run it.

How it usually goes How we run it

A monthly report of rankings and traffic, with no line connecting any of it to work won.

Reporting starts from enquiries and works backwards. A ranking that produces nothing is not a result.

Content billed by volume: four blog posts a month, forever.

Pages written because a real search needs answering. If there is nothing worth writing this month, we say so.

A 200-point technical audit, most of which changes nothing.

The handful of technical problems that are actually blocking you, fixed, and the rest named as not worth your money.

Links bought in bulk from whoever will sell them.

Links from places that have a reason to mention you. Slower, and the only kind that is not a liability later.

What this doesn’t fix

Worth saying plainly, because paying for the wrong thing is the most expensive mistake on this list.

If you are a local service business and your Google listing has never been set up, this is the wrong thing to buy first. The map decides more of your enquiries than the blue links do, and it moves faster.

Local SEO

Search is slow. If you need work booked this month rather than next quarter, paid search is the honest answer and we will tell you so rather than sell you a longer timeline.

Google Ads

How you’ll know it’s working

Agreed before any money is spent, so there is something to hold us to.

  • Enquiries that started with a search, tracked to the page that produced them.
  • Which of your pages get found at all — and which have never had a visitor from search.
  • Position for the specific searches that have buying intent, not an average across hundreds of terms.
  • Measured before the work starts, so improvement is demonstrable rather than asserted.

What you won’t get from us is a promised ranking, a promised number of leads or a promised date. Nobody controls those, and quoting them before the work starts is guessing with your money.

What it costs, and who does it

A fixed number before anything starts, agreed with you first — not an hourly rate that drifts. What the number is depends on what we find, and we would rather look before quoting than quote and revise.

Before you ask

The questions we actually get.

How long does SEO take?

Longer than anyone selling it wants to say. Structural fixes can show up in weeks; competitive positions take months and sometimes do not come at all. We would rather tell you that now than explain it in month four.

What is the difference between this and local SEO?

Local SEO is the map, the profile, proximity and reviews. This is the ordinary blue links below it. For most local service businesses the map matters more and should come first.

Can you guarantee page one?

No. Anybody who does is either guessing or relying on you not checking which searches they picked.

Do I need to publish a blog?

Usually not, and a monthly post nobody searches for is a subscription rather than a strategy. Content earns its place when a real search needs answering.

What if I already paid someone for SEO?

We will look at what was done. Sometimes there is real work to build on; sometimes there are things to undo. Either way you get the honest version, including if the answer is that you were charged for very little.

Will you need access to my site?

Yes, and it stays your access. We work in your accounts, not in ours, so nothing is held hostage if we stop working together.
